Take a Crash Course in Brampton Real Estate 101
Are you looking for a home in the Brampton
area? Houses in this vibrant city are in high demand, and it’s easy to see why.
Brampton has all
of the amenities of one of Canada’s top ten
cities, along with a strong sense of community, and a strikingly diverse
population. Brampton also features some of the most beautiful luxury homes available
anywhere – whether you’re looking for a classic city home with architectural
flair or ready to experience gracious country living on a Credit Valley
acreage. Before you buy in Brampton, here are three things to consider:
Neighbourhoods
The old real estate maxim about "location”
being the paramount consideration is still true. Before you begin looking at
houses, do a little research about Brampton’s neighbourhoods, and see how each
might fit with your family’s needs.
For example, Fletcher’s Meadow, an area in
northwest Brampton, is a neighbourhood with many new homes and young families.
Homes are still going up in this part of town and many overlook lush
conservation areas. Schools in Fletcher’s Meadow score impressively on
Ontario’s EQAO tests.
The Vales of Castlemore, on the city’s east
side, is the neighbourhood with the highest average income, and homes in this
area tend to be large and luxurious, with 40 – 80 foot frontages. If you plan
to be in Toronto frequently, it may make sense to choose a home in this part of
Brampton.
Downtown Brampton features leafy streets
filled with heritage houses dating back to the mid-19th century,
including some wonderful examples of Queen Anne style architecture with
turrets, bay windows, and highly decorated verandahs.
The scenic Heart Lake area is in high
demand; houses here tend to sell quickly. In fact, the average number of days
that a house remains on the market in Brampton is only 18 days!
